“Every Saint has a past and every Sinner has a future”- Oscar Wilde That’s a powerful quote! Oscar Wilde had a way of capturing deep truths with wit and elegance. This line suggests that no one is purely good or evil—everyone has a story, a journey of transformation. It’s a reminder that redemption is always possible and that people are more than their past mistakes or virtues. I shared this a week ago on my stories after this workout. Let’s give some colour to this quote and why it even popped up was sparked by the conversation Greg and I had. Up until recently, Greg was someone I was cool with and we chopped it up whenever we met. I met Greg through mutual friends in my first year. The Greg I met and the one I worked out with are not the same and Vice versa. I won’t speak for him but one thing we bonded on was how the last couple years have been of healing and dealing with our past and the demons we carried for a while. This workout felt like therapy for real. You may have seen clips from when I was a guest on his podcast. So This workout was that on steroids. He raised the bar for this concept I had in my head. I got to share with him and I guess with yall ,why Faith especially the last two years is a core part of my identity. With that being said your boy has a past and this conversation helped me not be so fixated on my past and all its mess. That mess is a part of the chapters God has used to write this book I call my life. That version of me was necessary for me to be the version. Growth isn’t a straight path—it’s full of setbacks, doubts, and struggles. It’s uncomfortable, unpredictable, and often painful, but that’s what makes it real. The messiness is where the learning happens, where character is built. The past shapes us, but it doesn’t have to control us. We can learn from it, grow beyond it, and choose who we want to become. Every day is a new chance to rewrite our story. I ain’t no saint but I’m damn well sure who I used to be I’m a work in progress Are you trying to break free from something in your past?
