Many boaters are scared of electric boats because they worry about the limited range or run time of batteries. In this video, I'm taking my vintage Glastron boat out for a thorough test of the ePropulsion Navy 6 Evo electric outboard motor, paired with a Solid State Marine battery. The battery is a 210 Amp Hour battery that is a good match for this electric outboard motor. I'm using an app to track my progress and evaluate the motor's performance., Electric propulsion for boats is not just for really short trips anymore. See how this electric boat motor performs! Electric powered boats are often ridiculed because people say they can only run for a short period of time because of the batteries. The boat I am using in this video is not specifically designed for electric propulsion and it is not an extremely light weight boat. The motor I am using is an ePropulsion Navy 6.0 Evo long shaft and I have it connected to a single Solid State Marine battery that is 48 volts and 210 amp hours. While this configuration is not inexpensive, it proves that person can take an electric boat out for several hours without fear of the battery leaving you stranded. Electric outboard motors are becoming more common and battery technology is improving constantly and this video shows what is possible right now with readily available components for hours of worry-free electric boating. 00:00 Introduction 00:20 How I am monitoring the range and run time of my electric boat 06:08 After 30 minutes - battery life, average speed and distance traveled in my electric boat 11:23 After 1 hour - battery life, average speed and distance traveled in my electric boat 18:31 After 90 minutes - battery life, average speed and distance traveled in my electric boat 20:57 End of trip data - battery life, average speed and distance traveled in my electric boat #boat #battery #epropulsion
