We experienced an unforgettable elephant safari at Jaldapara National Park, starting from the Hollong Bungalow Elephant Safari Point. Riding on the back of an elephant through the wild forests of North Bengal is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. During our visit, we stayed at Jaldapara Aranyak Resort (Sisamara), a peaceful place close to nature and very convenient for exploring the park. https://maps.app.goo.gl/av6bjTFGMN6Zs... Early in the morning, we entered the forest area by car and reached the safari starting point. Our vehicle entered the jungle through the Salkumar Gate, where a forest guide boarded our car and accompanied us to the Hollong Bungalow Elephant Safari Point. The safari journey began through dense forest trails, where the wilderness felt raw and untouched. One of the most fascinating moments was watching our elephant cross three rivers, slowly walking through the flowing water — making the experience even more magical. As we moved deeper into the forest, we finally reached the vast grasslands, the natural habitat of the majestic Indian one-horned rhinoceros. There we spotted a rhino peacefully resting and enjoying the cool water of a pond, completely relaxed in its natural environment. During the safari, we were also lucky to spot wild boar, sambar deer, Indian bison (gaur), and peacocks, making the experience even more special. While returning from the safari, we experienced one of the most thrilling moments of the jungle. A group of wild elephants was moving through the nearby bushes. Although they were hidden inside the dense forest, we could clearly hear the loud cracking sound of branches breaking as they moved through the vegetation. That powerful jungle sound made the moment incredibly intense and exciting — a true reminder that we were deep inside the wild.
