Navigation & Wild Camping Course

A bespoke Navigation and Wild Camping Course run over a weekend in the Brecon Beacons. This course was tailored to the requirements of the customer, who wanted to learn practical Navigation and Wild Camping techniques. Day One covered Navigation Theory (Intro to Maps, Scale, Map Symbols, Grid References, Measuring Distance, Intro to Compass, Grid Bearings, Mag Bearings, Route Planning), then practical Navigation on the hills. We also collected and purified water, covered campsite selection and different types of shelter using a tarp. Day Two consolidated the Nav Training, covering different ground and included more work on Bearings and included Pacing. During the Course we covered varied terrain, from mountain tracks, to woodland, to open moorland, including boggy and uneven ground.
