A WEEK OF VOLUNTEERING IN SADHANA FOREST| AUROVILLE

Sadhana forest is an organisation that propagates ecologically responsible and sustainable way of living. It is also one of the largest volunteer organisation which sees 70-100 volunteers at a given point. So we decided to volunteer here for a week and experience living in a sustainable and environment friendly way. Sadhana forest is located 6 kms away from Maitri Mandir (Golden Globe). The tasks mainly involve afforestation and maintenance of property. One does learn when here, living in a non-competitive environment, conservation principles, veganism, unprocessed food eating habits, importance of recycling, and most of all maintaining a process and decorum and the benefits of the same. Me and Nandan along with my friend and her mother were there for one week. While we were there there was a Dialogue of Humanity Workshop, where there were more than 200 people from around the globe.
