Whenever I think of this hymn, I think it's title should be "Take It To The Lord in Prayer" as that is the encouragement throughout the song. Also reminded of how many times Jesus went away to pray to God the Father. God the Son Himself took the pain of the trial and crucifixion to prayer and sweat drops of blood. May we take everything to the Lord in prayer trusting not that we will or should be removed from all pain or adversity, but that we have a Saviour who conquered through it all and sympathizes with us (maybe I will have to do "The Great Physician Now is Near"). If you'd like an MP3 of this song, send an email to info@thencrew.com with your request. Lyrics: What a friend we have in Jesus all our sins and griefs to bear What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer O what peace we often forfeit O what needless pain we bear all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer Have we trials and temptations Is there trouble anywhere We should never be discouraged take it to the Lord in prayer Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share Jesus knows our every weakness take it to the Lord in prayer Are we weak and heavy laden cumbered with a load of care Precious Savior, still our refuge take it to the Lord in prayer Do thy friends despise, forsake thee Take it to the Lord in prayer In his arms he'll take and shield thee thou wilt find a solace there Words by: Joseph M.
