China conducted joint naval drills with Russia and Iran in the Indian Ocean on Tuesday. The “Security Belt-2025” drills, taking place near the Iranian port of Chabahar, is the fifth joint naval exercise Iran, China and Russia have held since 2019. China dispatched its 47th naval escort taskforce, including the guided-missile destroyer CNS Baotou and the comprehensive supply ship CNS Gaoyouhu. The drills involve exercises on striking maritime targets, boarding and seizing, damage control and joint search and rescue.
