The warm acoustic strum and the fairground waltzer buzz bely the dystopian world described, the city at night, the addicts, the streetworkers and the fights. It’s these everyday tragedies that feed a nostalgic desire to be somewhere more beautiful and innocent, like maybe the past. This album opener sets the scene both musically and lyrically for Rezo’s forthcoming album The Age of Self Help out in Summer 2024 and produced by Canadian heavyweight Marcus Paquin (Arcade Fire, The National, The Weather Station).
