"A Certain Someone" is track 7 on The Sundays debut album Reading, Writing And Arithmetic, released in 1990 by Rough Trade Records. Written by David Gavurin & Harriet Wheeler. Performing this live in the early 90s club scene, The Sundays would crush it! So much groove, attitude, and energy. Yet another unique composition with multiple layers of guitar smothered in chorus - especially during the finale, so I had to accommodate it for one guitar. This took me a while to work out a few years back as the limited live VHS footage out there is poor so this is all by ear and feel taking what I could from the live footage. I based it loosely on David Gavurin's live approach. Super tricky song as it has lots of breathing space but the chorus parts are just full on. Gavurin at his finest on this particular album, exceptional parts to come up with for the composition. Not a personal favourite from the band, but thought it'd be a challenge to try record a performance of it for those who care. Recorded playing an Artist guitar Stealth model in Matte Black finish. DI for this using a pre-amp direct to software. Pedals are my standard a TC Electronics' Hall of Fame 2 reverb pedal and Boss Super Chorus CH1. https://www.artistguitars.com.au/ https://www.tcelectronic.com/product.... https://www.boss.info/au/products/ch-1/
