This hero is a great first-pick support hero right now that punishes a lot of second-pick carry and offlane heroes you would typically face. So if you haven’t been paying attention to the meta this past, I don’t know… year, it seems Strength heroes continue to dominate this meta and no matter what the developers do, these heroes continue to show up. Even if some AGI carries have slipped through the cracks like Morphling, Slark or even Ursa. They all manage to have massive regeneration capabilities that just makes it hard to keep them down and out in a fight. I mean, we’re even seeing Wraith King as an Offlaner so every match just feels excessively drawn out and hard to overcome. Especially true with the prevalence of Sange & Yasha being picked up every game, the health and health regeneration of heroes has risen significantly with no real way to stop it, even when the developers tried to buff Spirit Vessel in 7.38c. So you have a hero that can stack up Death Rimes to reduce a target’s max health and an ultimate ability that instantly kills its target if their health gets too low. I think it’s fairly straight-forward why AA is so popular these days. Now this is where itemization also kicks in because AA doesn’t really need any items but if he were to opt for some, Rod of Atos is a no-brainer for him since it double-CCs the enemy by rooting them for you to then cast Cold Feet and guarantee that it sticks.
