Building the County's Main City in Cities: Skylines II | Banks County, EP 5

Welcome back to Banks County, my mostly vanilla-ish build in Cities Skylines II! In today's episode, I start building the beginnings of the county's main city! I lay out roads based on the topography of where I've chosen the town to be. The roadway network of the old part of the city is not a nice neat grid. Instead, it's more natural and angular due to the landscape. I add in a mix of zoning, a few parks, and some city services to get things going. I also downgrade the highway near the main city to a two-lane highway as this seems a bit more realistic to me. On the outskirts of town, I create a small subdivision similar to what would have been created in the 1940s/1950s in the United States. My goal for the future is to tie in the older part of town to the newer part. I want to achieve this by using better access management and a limited roadway hierarchy. Thanks for watching!!
