Why is There a War Between Israel & Palestine?

There is a war-like situation between Israel and Palestine at the moment. The bloody conflict between Israelis and Palestinians is said to have begun about a month ago. An Israeli Court ordered that 70 Palestinians living in the area of Sheikh Jarrah in East Jerusalem, have to be removed from their houses in the coming weeks. These Palestinians will be evicted and replaced by Jewish people who will stay in the area. According to the court, the houses that the Palestinians live in were built on land that were owned by Jewish religious associations before the establishment of Israel in 1948. Palestinians refused to accept this and there were violent clashes between them and Israeli police. After this, May 7 was the last Friday of the month of Ramadan. On this day, when Palestinians arrived at the Al Aqsa Mosque in eastern Jerusalem for prayers, they had violent clashes with the Israeli security forces. Some Palestinians were killed in this violent clash, and after this, violence has erupted in Tel Aviv and other cities of Israel. Hamas is a terrorist organization of the Palestinian people. Their main objective is to take back East Jerusalem. Hamas believes that East Jerusalem is the capital of the future Palestinian nation and the land was wrongfully acquired by Israel. This dispute between the two has been going on for a long time now. But this time the conditions have gone out of control. Hamas militants fired more than 100 rockets on Israel's Tel Aviv, Ashkelon and Holon cities on 11th May. These rockets are so dangerous that even a 20-story building can be destroyed in a blink of an eye. This rocket attack by Hamas led to a stampede in the Tel Aviv city of Israel. People came out of their homes and some people were seen running towards an underpass there. During this rocket attack, the sound of sirens was echoing all over the city and this siren was ringing so that people could get out of their homes to save their lives. If these rockets had fallen in different cities of Israel, it would have caused massive destruction and killed hundreds of people, but that did not happen. Israel destroyed these rockets in the air before reaching their target. Leaving one or two rockets, every rocket was destroyed by the Israeli army in the air and this was possible with the Iron Dome Anti Missile System. Israel has also responded to the rocket attack of Hamas and has carried out airstrikes in Gaza. In this airstrike, a 13-storey building was blown up by Israel.
