Here's a clip of our engineer, George, showing you how to carry out your weekly fire alarm test on a Kentec fire alarm detection system. You can find out more about weekly testing, how to do it and why it's important in our article 'Top 5 Dos & Don'ts When Carrying Out Your Weekly Fire Alarm Test': https://www.w-fp.co.uk/top-5-fire-ala... Your weekly testing of your fire alarm is incredibly important to help you identify faults with your life safety system. You should always check a different call point each week to make sure that each one sets off the alarm as it should. E.g. if you had 52 call points in your building, in a year you'd have tested each one and at the start of year 2 you'll start the rotation again. All results must be recorded in your fire alarm log book, which is evidence of you carrying out your due diligence within your commercial premises. Weekly fire alarm testing is not to be confused with fire alarm maintenance; weekly testing is to be carried out by you, the user and 'Responsible Person' for your building, but your maintenance or service (which usually takes place every six months depending on your Fire Risk Assessment) is to be carried out by a specialist to test all devices, including your detectors and not just your call points.
