This 𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲 of 𝗤𝗨𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝟰 features Azrin Abdullah, who began his love affair with the Oud, an Arabic lute-type stringed instrument in 1999 when he was tasked to learn the exotic instrument as part of an endeavour to master traditional Malay music, along with Hsiao-Tzu Tien, a freelance choreographer, dancer and performer from Taiwan. In recent years, Tien has put the focus of her choreographic research on human emotions shaped by time, history, culture and environment. . . This episode also features a 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 by 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗵-𝗪𝗲𝗶, a Taiwanese director, dramaturge, performer, and journalist. After finishing his P.H.D. degree in University of Paris III, Shih-Wei works between France and Taiwan as an artist, cultural journalist and translator. Exploring the intersectionalities and possibilities of the sonic and physical realms, the performance project aims to promulgate the concepts of improvisation, exploration, experimentation and collision. . . Artists are challenged to meet on the afternoon of performance day at 5pm to discuss their strategies (if any) for the evening's improvisation performance at 8pm.
