The Prime Minister stated, 'Japan is back! Japan, once again, will lead the innovation in the world, and the new Japan stands ready to play an even greater role for world peace.' The speaker described President Trump and herself as 'the best buddies to realize this shared goal' of stronger, more prosperous nations. The Prime Minister referenced a historic trade deal reached during Trump's visit to Tokyo last year covering energy, semiconductors, shipbuilding and pharmaceuticals. Japan gifted 250 additional cherry trees to Washington DC to mark America's 250th anniversary, to be planted near the Washington Monument. The Prime Minister congratulated Trump's son Barron on his birthday and praised the IndyCar Race Freedom 250 Grand Prix planned for Washington in August.
