Dive on the U-260 with UCC Sub Aqua Club on the 7th September 2013. The U-260 was a German Type VII-C U-boat that was scuttled by her crew after striking a mine on the 12th March 1945. She lies in about 40m of water about 4 miles South of Glandore, West Cork. The video was shot 1080p @ 24fps on a GoPro Hero 3 Black w/ Head Mount. I've left this video unedited so that as big an account of the sub is available through this video. I do not expect anyone to watch all of this video in one go but rather skip around the video to find interesting features The video begins with the descent to the wreck. The circumnavigation of the U-boat begins on the Starboard side and proceeds aft, the prop and the stern can be seen as I come around to the Port side and start going forward. Some of the top hatches can be seen (8:18) as I get close to the conning tower in the middle of the wreck. At the conn, the radio transmitter can be seen (The round protrusion) as well as the main periscope just next to it. A quick look down the hatch before I move on. Moving further forward some large cylinders can be seen along the side of the wreck, I believe that these are a part of the buoyancy system of the sub. The rest of the dive takes place in and around the forward end of the wreck which is more broken up due to the damage sustained either by a mine or the '78 rock.
