We took WallyB, our Merry Fisher Marlin 695, out for a night fishing adventure on a warm July evening. Launching from the Hamble in Southampton around 5pm, we cruised down to Christchurch Ledge, stopping along the way to try our luck for bass and mackerel. With my son Myles, my brother David, his son Edwin, and James from the SeaSmith YouTube channel on board, we fished into the early hours in dead calm, pitch-black seas. The night brought us mackerel, bass, tope, dogfish – and two stunning small-eyed rays.
