From our collective experience of oppression and abuse of power felt by the policing in our nation, I dedicate this song in solidarity with the black community for a better relations, reform, and future for us all. BLACK LOVE BROWN PRIDE by Gregory Esparza of THEE MIDNITERS ... (This is the 1st raw take on the song) Please listen and SHARE... I wrote this song on May 31, 2020 and dedicate it to the times that call for Brown unity in the struggle for Black justice. We are stronger together in our fight for justice. This song is also dedicated to George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. I want my brown brothers and sisters to know that when I say Black Lives Matter, it is about us too. Together with all of our allies, we can make effective change in the world. To add more context to this day, May 31, 2020, I had written three songs. The first was "Black Love, Brown Pride", then "Judge, Jury, and Monster", and finally "Dehumanizer" What is crazy is that later that day I snapped a photo on a garage in Echo Park across from the lake that had the same words as the title to my song. The graffiti read, "Black Love ExP Brown Pride" that signaled someone from the local barrio tagged those words. I sang the songs over and over for a few days, and on June 7, 2020, I made this video and a first, looser, take on the song that I just made public.
