Winterization 2020 Axis A20 Surf boat

I run through the steps of how to winterize the boat. The video quality is shaky. I apologize, but rather post than not. I will include my checklist. If I missed anything please let me know. Oil filter: Hengst E160H01 D28 Oil Filter Insert with Gasket Set 2020 Axis A20 Winterization procedure 1) Open the drain plug on the back just behind the rudder and the T-handle in the compartment in the middle of the boat just next to driver’s seat. 2) Fill the gas tank and add fuel stabilizer (so that it gets into the parts when running the boat later), preferably a sta-bil 360 marine. I used sea-foam. 3) Do an oil change after running the engine for 10 minutes to get it hot and get the oil to proper viscosity to drain easily. To cut off engine, I recommend removing the air filter and spraying fogging oil into the intake, which should cut the engine off. a. Unscrew oil cap b. From oil removal tube use a ½” and a 7/16” wrench to remove cap to drain oil c. Cover seadek foam with protective sheet to protect from oil spills. d. Use fluid evacuator pump to pump about 8 quarts of oil out of the boat. e. Refill oil using full synthetic 5w-30 dexos Gen 2 engine oil 4) Winterize ballast system. a. Make sure ballasts are as empty as possible. b. Fill bucket with some antifreeze. c. Screw short hose into ballast intakes. d. Use electric utility pump to pump antifreeze into each ballast separately. Each ballast has it’s own intake port on the bottom of the boat. This must be done by pushing the ballast fill buttons from the captain’s chair. This can be done with battery only and does not require the engine to run. e. The port & starboard intakes are on those respective sides toward the bottom rear of the boat. f. The bow and center ballast intakes can be found on the port side near the center of the boat. The center ballast intake is closer to the front and the bow ballast intake closer to the back of the boat. g. After putting about ½ gallon of antifreeze into each ballast tank, hit the ballast evacuate button for a few seconds. (Try not to run the ballast fill button when dry for very long). h. Remove the fat sacs and store indoors. 5) Unscrew Sea strainer and drain. 6) Remove all 4 blue drain plugs. a. V-drive is grey in color with a yellow dipstick. Has a coupler with 4 bolts and a nut in the middle. Below the coupler is a blue wing nut plug. b. Pull engine boards out on either side of the engine. There should be a blue wingnut on each side (hose coming down from manifolds). Sometimes sediment will get in there and needs to be broken free to allow water to escape. Spray air into the hose to release the water. c. There should be a rear and 4th blue drain plug on starboard side.. 7) Allow all water to drain from the drain plugs and then put blue drain plugs back on. 8) Look at sea strainer and follow that down. There should be a valve with a blue rubber handle. Close this valve. 9) Where the prop shaft comes through the hull there is a hose that should be pinched with vice grips while the antifreeze goes through. 10) Connect garden hose and pump to flush kit and run 5 gallons of antifreeze through the system while the engine is running. 11) Reopen blue valve below sea strainer and unclamp the hose near where the prop shaft comes through. 12) Remove each spark plug and spray fogging oil in there. Use 5/8” spark plug socket wrench 13) Take batteries out and place them on trickle charger. 14) Clean the interior. 15) Dry it out. 16) Tape over exhaust? 17) Get it shrink wrapped. Summerization: 1) Change the impeller.
