ICELAND HIGHLANDS 2023 – Highland Center to Landmannalaguar to Hotel Rangá near Hvolsvöllur
In the summer of 2023, we came back to Iceland to explore the Highlands! The remoteness and stunning terrain are unlike any other place on earth. We captured what we felt was the essence of this beautiful region. This video captures our drive from the Highland Center which is the last stop for gas on the west side of the highlands, to Landmannalaguar and then to Hotel Rangá near the town of Hvolsvöllur. Along the way we explored Sigöldugljúfur Canyon, Triple Crater, Hnausapollur (Bláhylur) View Point, Ljótipollur View Point, Frostastaðavatn Scenic Viewpoint, Stútur crater and Landmannalaguar. We drove F208 to Landmannalaguar then F224 to highway 26 to highway 1 to Hotel Rangá. Our goal is capture fun moments of past adventures so that we can look back and reminisce about our experiences together. So many special moments get filed away in memory only to fade over time. We hope that you find your own special moments. We are two transplants from east of the Rockies who love to go on adventures exploring beautiful vistas and hidden gems.
