Don't be afraid to prune overgrown roses. It seems like almost everyone has a Knockout type rose in the garden, some overgrown and in need of a good prune. How low can you go? The answer is: maybe lower than you think, so long as you tackle the rose early in the season. It needs time to recover and harden off before winter.
