UPDATE: I find that the machine is really picky with the type of grind. I find that the thickness of the Lavazza coffee is the perfect thickness for the machine. I tried to grind my own coffee and the pod gets clogged. Pressure builds up inside then the foil kind of explodes off, pouring coffee grinds into the cup. So if you want to grind your own coffee, I suggest you get a good coffee grinder that can grind it to the consistency of the Nespresso grind or the Lavaza one. I also found that pressing the foil down on the inside edges is critical otherwise coffee gets inside that lip unevenly during spinning and the pod gets unbalanced and then the machine makes some horrible noises.
