Hey everyone, Whip here coming at you live with new channel branding! I started this track about 4 days ago with a 1:57.424 that was mediocre at best. The reason I started this track was because late last week I was scrolling TikTok and found MKW community member James Muraski streaming DK Summit. He seemed like a pretty cool guy, so I stuck around for his stream, and booted up some DK Summit attempts myself. I managed to get a 1:55.233 PB, which isn't impressive by community standards but moderately ok for mine, as I don't play MKW all too often. We almost instantly became good friends, and he mentioned that he recognized my time trial videos, funnily enough. James was interested in learning MK8, now that we were acquainted, and I suggested Electrodrome. I told him I would play the track when I was available over the weekend to teach him a few things about the game, including the basic fundamental tech, such as the infamous Demon Slides that were discovered on this very course. I managed to make rapid progress, lowering my best time nearly every day I played, ending at a 1:56.100 time. After setting that, I felt a mental block, until Electrodrome legend, Joseph, would point out the most obvious mistake I was doing in my hop pattern on the long straightaway, that caused me to lose nearly .2 per lap — I wasn't sliding into the spin booster, I was hopping into it, thus losing all of my momentum!! After realizing this, my biggest mistake was fixed practically instantly. The straight clicked, and flow was gained. That leads us to this run, knocking the OG legend Tyler’s ancient 1:55.884, off of the American Top 10. By the way, the reason I get a losing animation is because I still have おまえモナー's 1:55.508 former WR downloaded from since I was a kid, so I decided to try my hand at racing it. Also bonus shoutout to my good buddy Canadian Damian, who is trying to beat his PB after seeing me pick up the track.
