Last Chiltern Sliver Set

Hello and welcome to another J Railway Volunteer video, in this video we will be riding on board Chiltern Railways last Mk3 Chiltern set. The Mk3 Chiltern sets where introduced by Wrexham & Shropshire Railway in 2008 with the class 67 locos before being merged into Chiltern Railways in 2011. Before being replaced by the class 68s in 2014 from Vossolh which is now part of Stadler. The class 68s have also been used on the Transpennine Express Mk5A Nova3 sets which were introduced in 2019 and withdrawn in 2022. The Mk5As were brought in by Chiltern to replaced the aging Mk3 Sliver Sets. From the end of January 2026 Chiltern have rolled out the Mk5A Chiltern Explorers on the Mk3 Sliver Set diagrams so that the Mk3s can be withdrawn by the end of March 2026.
