In this video, I show how I replaced the front differential in this 2011 GMC Yukon. This truck has around 110,000 miles, and had a loud whining noise coming from the front differential when the transmission was set to "auto" mode. Setting it to "2wd" would make the drivetrain whine go away. This problem happened because it was kept in "auto" mode its entire life. If the truck was kept in "2wd" mode instead, the front differential likely would not have worn out. So after this repair, it will be kept in "2wd" and only switched to "auto" when the road conditions deem it necessary. This procedure is likely very similar for many GMC and Chevy Trucks, Tahoe, Suburban, Denali, Avalanche, Escalade, Silverado and Sierra.
