The altercation began when Kapil, rushing to catch a flight to Srinagar, requested to bypass a long queue, leading to a violent attack where he was tied to a pole and beaten. The incident, captured on CCTV and widely shared on social media, sparked outrage. Former BJP MLA Sangeet Som joined villagers in a massive protest, demanding strict action. Seven toll workers have been arrested, and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) imposed a ₹20 lakh fine on the toll agency, initiating its termination.
