Cellfina - FDA-cleared for Cellulite Treatment. Now at Pacific Dermatology & Cosmetic Center. Visit us online at http://goo.gl/Q2Oc8Z or call 206-859-5777. Hi there, I'm Dr. Jennifer Reichel of Pacific Dermatology & Cosmetic Center in Seattle and Renton Washington. And we're going to talk about Cellfina today. Cellfina is unique in that it is the only FDA-approved device that has been shown to have at least up to two years efficacy. I believe it's probably going to be permanent efficacy to treat cellulite. 85 percent of all women in the United States have cellulite. I even personally know many who work out very consistently and they still have dimpled cellulite. We have to do the prep work, we have to do the drawings, we usually take photographs and the procedure itself, on the table, usually takes roughly 45 minutes to an hour and a half. An ideal candidate is someone who has dimpled or linear cellulite on the buttocks or the thighs. If you have what I'm going to term cottage cheese type cellulite, it's not going to be as effective. It's really for those people who have dimples and or sort of line-like cellulite. Cellfina works by using a very small needle-like device to go in and cut through those bands, release them, and then the skin can come up and become smooth. One of the great things about Cellfina that I've been very impressed with is one, it's minimally painful. So during the procedure itself, it's very well tolerated. It does require a little bit of sedation but it does not require general anesthesia. The study that they did is now two years out. We know that it lasts at least two years. The satisfaction rate is amazing. It was a 94 percent satisfaction rate in the study at one year and 97 percent at two years. So it actually went up. That's the highest satisfaction rating I've actually heard of for any cosmetic device. So it's very impressive. People are really happy with their results. OK, so recovery for Cellfina. I'm going to say that the first two days, you're going to have tenderness. There's bruising and there's swelling. That can last anywhere from three days to three or four weeks even. Cost for Cellfina, I would actually compare it a little bit to cost for liposuction. It's going to generally run anywhere from $3,500 to $6,000 and that really depends on the degree of cellulite. Whether or not it's mild, medium, or severe. I am so excited about having Cellfina here at Pacific Dermatology. I do a lot of liposuction and I always feel bad that I have to tell the patient "I can't fix your cellulite and not only that there's nothing out there that can." And now we finally have a device that does. If you're interested or thinking about having Cellfina done and you have cellulite that is really bothering you, which it does most people, come in for a consultation. We'll sit down and talk, do an examination, we can discuss the whole procedure and how it works.
