This mission is an absolute nightmare for max coins. No other mission even comes close. Most of the level is fairly middle-of-the-road, but there's one part of this level that is so incredibly difficult that it single-handedly drove me crazy trying to get every coin possible. This section is the moving platform near the end of the level that passes by cannonballs. Since you can get coins from these cannonballs, you can therefore attempt to get additional coins while on this moving platform. However, due to the speed of the platform, you have a very small window with which to shoot the cannonball and get the coin. You have to coordinate Mario's movement with the exact placement of the cursor, which is very difficult. Additionally, this section (which I call the "Bruhmobile") is at the end of the level, so you have to do about 2 minutes worth of gameplay before you even get a chance at an attempt! It's ridiculous... Getting the Spanglers at the end of the Bruhmobile is actually far easier than it looks, somehow. It is quite consistent. A 43rd coin is possible if you can get the third cannonball's coin (the one at 1:38) that I skipped in this video. I've gotten that coin on a practice attempt, but it adds even more complexity to this behemoth of a challenge. For now, I don't plan on getting 43 coins for this mission, even though I am 100% sure that it is possible. A 44th coin is possible by bouncing on the first cannonball shot by Bowser Jr. in a volley right before it naturally despawns. This results in 8 cannonballs being on screen at once, meaning the 8th cannonball would have a coin stored inside. You can also get additional coins during the Bowser Jr. fight by using Co-Star mode by freezing the cannonballs on screen. You can freeze up to 18 cannonballs before they stop spawning, so the max coins here is 18. *This run was done on Super Mario 3D All-Stars for the Nintendo Switch
