Checking out the 7Artisans 50mm f:1,1 lens

IMPORTANT WARNING: Because this lens projects so far at the rear, it may NOT be safe to mount with adapters to some mirrorless cameras! I discovered when trying to use it on my Olympus E-M 5 Mk II that the rear projection hit the inner lens mount when the lens was focused near infinity. Test carefully when using any type of adapter! Original description: Not a "lens test," but a user-focused overview of this new, somewhat controversial lens for rangefinder cameras with the Leica-M mount. Currently it's the least expensive M-mount lens you can buy brand-new. But what corners have been cut, and how does it work for picture-taking? A new, reasonably-priced 50mm lens should be of interest to newcomers to M-mount photography who might want to hold down their total investment. New M-mount lenses normally are expensive because of the precision mechanics required to couple the rangefinder. Used lenses are another option, of course, but it takes some experience to evaluate them; a bad one might be useless or need expensive repairs. The 7Artisans lens could be a good alternative... IF it works... [I forgot to mention in the video that my Canon 50mm f/0.95 lens had been specially adapted by a technician to fit on an M-mount camera. Normally these lenses do NOT fit M-mounts... Canon made them with a special mount that fit only on the Canon 7 and 7s rangefinder cameras. There's now an adapter available that lets them be used on Fuji X mount, or you can have the lens permanently converted to M mount. If you shoot film, the best way to use this lens probably is to find a Canon 7s, which is an excellent rangefinder camera that accepts the lens directly.
