On January 6, 2025, Elizabeth Naylor, also known as Jan Black or Jan Owens, mother of Laura Owens, petitioned a New Mexico court to reopen probate proceedings regarding the estate of her deceased mother. Elizabeth/Jan alleged that her brother, Mark Naylor, had engaged in fiduciary malfeasance and exercised undue influence over the estate. The filing occurred shortly before Maricopa County investigators executed a search warrant at Elizabeth Naylor’s Scottsdale residence. That law enforcement action was part of a criminal investigation into her daughter, Laura Owens, concerning allegations of fraudulent pregnancies and the targeted harassment of multiple men.
