Our miracle #EleTwins Yaad and Tukada are textbook "water babies." Elephant twins comprise less than 1% of elephant births worldwide, and of elephant pregnancies, twins are often stillborn or too weak to survive. Sometimes the mother elephant does not survive. To date, there has never been another recorded case of surviving elephant twins in the Americas or Europe. It took almost an hour of supportive care to stabilize twin two, Tukada, and we cannot thank the entire team enough for their high level of expertise, professionalism, and focus during that time and to this day.
