In a disturbing incident from Guwahati’s Manimugdha Nagar, a dog suspected of rabies was brutally killed by locals, despite showing no visible symptoms. An NGO had recommended monitoring the animal, but within a day, the dog was found dead on June 22. When the NGO staff returned, they were threatened by locals who demanded the removal of all street dogs from the area or warned of more killings. An FIR has been lodged against the accused.
