John Young singing his song "Orgreave" at the With Banners Held High event in Wakefield on March 7th, 2015. With Banners Held High celebrated the 30th anniversary of the end of the Miners Strike 1984-5. 93 pickets, many of them injured were arrested after unprecedented violent clashes on June 18th, 1984. None of them were convicted due to police statements that were obviously copied. The BBC infamously showed the film footage in the wrong order to make it look like the miners attacked the police first when, in fact, the police charge happened before that. The Independent Police Complaints Commission is currently considering if it can investigate the incident. The song is dedicated to The Orgreave Campaign For Truth and Justice.
