99 Lives is a period piece that follows the history and evolution of broadcasting in Southern Africa through the life of Tich Mataz. It’s an interview series that covers the time period 1980-2000 making major stops at Radio 3(Zimbabwe), Radio BOP(South Africa) and 5FM(South Africa). The series explores and captures vividly the politics of the times, the evolution of a people, the metamorphosis of culture, the zeitgeist of this defining period and how radio was at the centre of it. Simply put, it's a story of a people and their radio 99 lives is a 5-part series where broadcaster Tich Mataz is interviewed by SoProfound.
