Hi, Everyone! Welcome to the first episode of my new series 'Cobble Icons'. When I say "I am obsessed with Coronation Street" - this could be construed as an understatement. Ever since I can remember (probably aged 6 years old) I remember sitting down with either my Mum or Grandmother to watch Corrie. My own little game was to be the first to spot the ginger cat in the opening titles of the show, in the nineties! Now I have my very own ginger tabby cat, his name is Phoenix. Partly named after the timeless actress, Pat Phoenix and partly due to another personal reason. In today's film, I dive into the first-ever sepaking character on Coronation Street. Her name was Florrie Lindley and made her appearance over 60 years ago, on the 9th December 1960. She was last mentioned in 2007 by another Corrie icon - Ken Barlow. I have looked at various resources to do my research and where possible kept it as accurate as I possibly can.
