In the years I have spent sewing costumes and puppets and Burning Man costumes and other odd projects, I have not made a pair of non-stretchy pants. This year I have been on a mission to learn how. I successfully made pair of wide leg pants from a Vogue pattern. I was feeling bolstered by that success and decided to make a pair of slacks I found in another pattern (specifically https://simplicity.com/simplicity/pds... ) Instead of doing the normal, accepted way of making a test of a pattern using muslin, I decided to make the pants out of black and white polka dot patterned cotton. It seemed like a good idea at the time... What followed was a slow descent into madness. Enjoy!
