Here we go guys! Cigar review No.28 on the Dr Joe Show - the legendary Partagas Lusitanias! It's time to start breaking into our "summer seleccion" of cigars. This particular box was ordered from FinestCubanCigars.com and is among - no - IS the most beautiful box of Partagas Lusitanias I've personally ever seen, as the photos will show. We've covered this brand before and so it's not a "brand history," review, although we will be talking briefly about the Lustanias in particular, hands down one of the most famed formats within the Habanos range. The name Lustanias is as well known as is any brand name to anyone who has anything to do with cigars. In name, it's probably almost as old as the Partagas brand itself. Oddly enough, it has not always been the same in regards to the actual size of the vitola. Prior to 1976, the Lusitanias was rolled in a "109 / Nro.109" format (50 x 7.2") which is considered more of a Double Robusto. The size was changed to a "Prominentes" (49 x 7.6") or a Double Corona - the size we are all familiar with today. The name remains the same... The Partagas Lusitanias is a favorite among connoisseurs and aficionados. The blend is superbly balanced and wonderfully complex, packed with all the notes and nuances necessary to capture the attention the most discriminating of smokers. It is the favorite cigar of the lauded cigar collector and aficionado, Max Gutmann, who smoked them almost exclusively for over 20 years. And so, let's get smokin'!
