DIY Plus Size Milkmaid Dress: Cashmerette Upton X Charm Patterns Rita Blouse Pattern Mashup

For this spur-of-the-moment sewing project, I am combining two of my favorite sewing patterns together to create a made for me milkmaid dress. I am using the Cashmerette Upton Dress for the skirt, and the Charm Patterns Rita blouse for the top, both of which I had on hand to make this project. Because this project was unplanned, I made it for less than $20 by using inexpensive quilting cotton from Joann’s. This is a bit of a cheat, as regular price it would be more than $20 ($5.99/yd vs. $2.99/yd), but it is very regularly on sale, including the weekend this video comes out! You could still stay under the $20 mark, by using a non-directional pattern, as I ended up using more fabric because this was directional. Yes, if you buy the patterns it would take it over, but the concept here was how I could use two patterns I already had to create the trendy dress I wanted. That being said, I have more than gotten my money’s worth out of both of these patterns, and would highly recommend both of them if you have a similar style to me.
