Trident Juncture 2015 will take place from October 3rd until November 6th and will include highly ready and technologically advanced forces comprised of land, air, maritime and special forces components. It will culminate with the certification of the Headquarters Staff from Joint Force Command Brunssum to lead the NATO Response Force, if activated throughout 2016. __ Allied Command Operations (ACO), NATO's headquarters for all military plans and operations, is the successor to two historic strategic commands for NATO – Allied Command Europe and Allied Command Atlantic. ACO is one of The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation's (NATO) two strategic military commands. The other command being Allied Command Transformation ACT in Norfolk, Virginia. ACO is commanded by the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) and is responsible for all Alliance military operations. The command headquarters, known as Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, or SHAPE, is located in Casteau near Mons, Belgium. The mission of ACO and the SACEUR is to contribute to preserving the peace, security and territorial integrity of NATO member nations in its area of responsibility.
