*Gorilla Basoko from La Vallée des Singes playfully chases colobus monkeys in his forest home. Watch as he beats his chest and the monkeys cleverly evade him you can see the introduction video of all their names here:    • Introduction of the La Vallée des Singes G...   * The youngest gorilla of the La Vallée des Singes Wildlife Park, Basoko, is taking on a bunch of colobus monkeys in his forest home. One of the monkeys is behind the door flap. Both primates seem to have fun teasing each other. The New World monkeys watch Basoko as he beats his chest. Basoko chases after the monkey, who jumps off the bridge. Basoko goes back to the flap, beating it, then beating his chest. He then goes back over the bridge and back again to the flap. One of the colobus monkeys runs towards the gorilla. Basoko reaches towards him, but the monkey simply jumps off the bridge. Dad, Silverback Yaounde, is sitting at the bottom of the grass. Watch out for the bit where Basoko is busy beating his chest and kicking the flap. As soon as he turns towards the bridge, the colobus comes out, hitting his heel. When the gorilla youngster hangs from the platform, the colobus comes running and makes sure he lets go. The drop isn't very far. Basoko runs off with the colobus monkey running towards him. The youngster lifts his arms, and the monkey runs past. Mixed habitats are always fun to watch. Natural enrichment for both species. The best mixed interaction has to be Silverback Awali and the mangabey that really took a shine to him.
