Sub-Requests: Kero Blaster, Part 2: Victory!

Originally streamed Feb 6, 2023. This was a feature on my stream for a few years to reward subscribers. For every month someone subscribed, they got 1 hour of request time, and I made a google document to keep track of everyone's time. I did this for several years until discontinuing it. Created by Daisuke "Pixel" Amaya on 2014, this indie platformer was his follow-up to the incredible Cave Story, which is still one of the all time best indie games. As opposed to Cave Story which was more exploratory (but not Metroid style) this is more linear and straightforward. Your frog blasts through a series of stages, and has a rather Japanese theme of "overworking for a company." To properly finish the game you must play through twice, with the 2nd playthrough being harder and called "Zangyou" mode (which means overtime.) The game shares a lot in common with Cave Story including the feel of it's story, gameplay, and music, despite being more linear. Of course Cave Story had an absolutely legendary soundtrack for an indie game, and this game is no slouch on music, being nearly as good as that game. For an indie game this game's soundtrack is spectacular and it's certainly among the very best.
