A Few Things to Know About Terrorism and Counter-terrorism

Nick Sitter is Professor of Public Policy at the School of Public Policy at CEU, Professor of Political Economy at the BI Norwegian Business School, and a Research Associate at the LSE Centre for Analysis of Risk and Regulation. His research interests include EU public policy (European integration, the European Economic Area, the EU regulatory state), energy policy (oil and gas markets, EU regulation, the IPE of energy), political parties and party systems (party strategy, Euroscepticism, democratization), and terrorism and political violence (nationalism, civil war, counter-terrorism policy). His recent publications on counter-terrorism include two pieces co-authored with Tom Parker: “The Four Horsemen of Terrorism – It’s not Waves, it’s Strains” (forthcoming in Terrorism and Political Violence, 2016) and “Fighting Fire with Water: NGO and Counter-Terrorism Policy Tools” (Global Policy, 5:2 (2014) 159-168).
