Fishery Audit time and just lately there’s this little reservoir that keeps popping up on my newsfeed and its forever promoting positive angling. So i thought id give it a visit and give you all a walk around of the place. “Hello all My names megan, my mam and dad as had the lease on Thurnscoe Reservoir Community Pond for 30 yeas The rezza is a mixed fishery In the last 12 months we have had gave the pond a massive make over and starting doing a lot off work. Set up a trust hut with free fishing tackle and bait for people to loan (20 children and 28 adults to date has had free tackle) Created a warm space with hot drinks and snacks for the fishermen/women to enjoy free of charge Increased number of young people that are fishing Hosted mental health awareness days and invited services to attend to speak to those fishing Gave free fishing passes to veterans Ran several raffles and donated the money to local community causes Supported a homeless guy with a tent, food and clothing until he found accommodation Hosted a Halloween party after the fishing match with free buffet and for all the community to attend Put sponsored metal plaques around the pond at each peg in memory of loved ones Cleared the carpark that was closed by the council and after 10 years worked to get it back open for those fishing Signed volunteers up for training in safeguarding Built a new disabled fishing peg Run their first disabled and SENDCO fishing match Made a remembrance corner on the pond Had a talking bench installed to encourage conversations and improve mental health Run a Christmas match with santa grotto witch was open to both member and the public Visited care homes at Christmas to gice out gifts We belive that fishing helps with a number off things. If you want to fish and cant afford to get in touch, we can help We have 2 disabled pegs both been wheelchair accessible RULES • No Racism or Bullying • No littering • No human waste on the pond • No unattended rods at any time • Microbarb or barbless hooks only • Under 16s to be accompanied by a responsible adult. If you want to fish with out just come see me, am sure if your the right kid with respect and manners we can sort somethink. • No floating baits in matches-can be used any other time • Braid only to be used for hooklength for carp only. • Leadcore banned completely • No spodding through summer months • No baitboats • No tiger nuts • No fires, bbq are fine as long as off the floor and not left unattended • No loud music • No nuisance drinking/drugs If the pond is busy you will be asked to use 2 rids only. This is a family venue, kids are dogs are welcome. ANYONE IS WELCOME. 🐠 🎣 🐠 🎣 Course fishing or days carp fishing permit is £30.00 for a year. Carp fishing with nights is £40 pound for a year with the use off up to 3 rods. Kids under 10 £5.00 for a year. Kids 10 to 16 £10 Oap 15 pound for a year. Veterans or anyone severing FREE. DAYS TICKETS. £7.00 a day Anyone 16 or under £3.00 a day Permits run from the 1st off January to the 31st off December. OUR POND IS OPEN 24 HOURS A DAY. WE HAVE FISHING TACKLE TO LOAN. FREE TEA, COFFEE, HOT CHOCOLATE, POP, WATER. The use off toilets is in our house, just ask The pond is at the back off the houses on tudor Street, there is 2 entrances, One been were the car park is, You can leave you car down there and get on to pond that way or you can park out side 32 tudor Street or on our drive and go through our garden the pond is just a short walk.
