One of Norway’s most iconic viewpoints. Rampestreken. Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of my “100 Hikes in 100 Days” challenge across Norway. Today we visit Åndalsnes, one of the country’s most iconic mountain regions, to hike the famous Romsdalstrappa trail up to the Rampestreken viewpoint. Starting from the town itself, the trail climbs steeply through forest, stone steps built by Nepali Sherpas, and sections with roots and railings. After about 1.5 hours, you reach Rampestreken — a 20-meter steel platform hanging out over the valley at 537 meters above sea level. The view here is one of the most breathtaking in all of Norway. From Rampestreken, it’s possible to continue up to Nesaksla for even wider panorama views over Åndalsnes and the surrounding mountains. Day 2 offered one of the most beautiful landscapes in this entire challenge. Let’s see what the next hikes will bring.
