This video is meant to teach the most basic of straight line stitches and a rolled hem on a sleeve hole. If you like these videos please consider supporting me on patreon at: / kiraelric and follow me on facebook at: / kamuiyamato Terms covered in this video are: Straight line stitch (or seam) - exactly as it sounds. A stitch at that moves in a single straight line from the top to the bottom (or vice versa) of the seam. Hem- Hemming is the process in which the edge is rolled flush to itself, while a seam joins the edges of two materials. Hems are commonly used to reinforce an edge, hide burrs and rough edges, and improve appearance. Rolled Hem- folding over the raw edge of the fabric once and then again to give a clean finished edge to the work. Raw Edge - Where the cut can be seen on the edge of the fabric. Raw edges can be sewn together or separate. It's where ever the fabric is not finished. Seam Allowance - The Seam allowance is how much space is between the thread and the edge of the fabric. I saw sewing with a 1/4 inch seam allowance, most people sew with a 1/2 inch to 5/8 inch seam allowance. Thanks for tuning it guys! Love life! Love Cosplay! ~Kira
