Duck boat comes to Datchet's rescue

An amphibious vehicle comes to aid of people in the flood hit villages of Datchet and Wraysbury. An amphibious duck boat has come to the aid of Wraysbury and Datchet communities along the banks of the River Thames after they were forced to abandon their homes as the water levels continued to rise following weeks of heavy rainfall. Graham Lumley, who runs the Windsor Duck Tour cruise company, said he got a call from Councillor Colin Rayner asking for help. "Initially, without any assistance we went into Wraysbury and picked a lady up out of her house, who was concerned that the power was going to go off and needed some help to get her out," he said. This was the second time the 89-year-old woman had been rescued by amphibious vehicle, having been saved from the same house during the 1947 flood.
