The grey fleet – A different perspective

There is often a tacit understanding that an employee will use their own car for work purposes – going to meetings, carrying materials and transporting employees and other people. For a work activity, such as driving, assessments and checks are required and for fleet vehicles these are in place. Some employers will carry out basic checks for the ‘grey fleet’ whilst others will rely on the employee confirming they have a licence, insurance and a legal vehicle when claiming expenses. The purpose of this webinar is to look forward at the changes that have happened in the last few years and what might be expected in the future. The price hike in fuel costs is an example where both employers and employees may consider a different approach – employers might want to reduce travel and the associated cost whilst employees might find that the mileage allowance is insufficient to cover their costs.
