DORM TOUR WITH A STORM APPROACHING⛈️ Like, Share and Subscribe for more content in the Future! Moving to Germany for studies? 🇩🇪 In this video, I give you a tour of a German student dorm and share a complete guide on how to find apartments and student housing. If you’re an international student, this will save you time, stress, and money when looking for your new home. ✨ How to Find Apartments & Student Housing in Germany: 1. Apply Early to Studentenwerk Dorms 🏢 • Studentenwerk is the official student housing service in every city. • Prices are usually much cheaper (€250–400/month). • Apply as soon as you get admission — waiting lists can be long. 2. Check WG (Shared Flats) 👥 • WGs = Wohngemeinschaften, where students share an apartment. • Super common, cheaper, and a great way to make friends. • Use WG-Gesucht.de (most popular site)(Use AI to quickly write messages and send). 3. Search on Housing Websites 🔎 • Immobilienscout24, eBay Kleinanzeigen (now Kleinanzeigen.de), Immowelt. • Filter by city, budget, and furnished/unfurnished. • Expect to pay €350–700 depending on the city and room type. 4. University & International Office Support 🎓 • Many universities have student housing lists or bulletin boards. • Some also connect international students with landlords. 5. Facebook & Local Groups 📱 • Search “WG in [Your City]” or “Student Housing [City]”. • Posts go fast, so reply quickly and politely. 6. Have Your Documents Ready 📂 • Landlords often ask for: • Passport / ID • Proof of enrollment (Immatrikulationsbescheinigung) • SCHUFA (credit check – sometimes not needed for students) • Proof of finances (blocked account / scholarship) • Tip: Make a short intro + “Wohnungsbewerbung” (housing CV with a photo). 7. Avoid Scams ❌ • Never send money before seeing the apartment. • If rent looks too cheap for Berlin/Munich → probably fake. 8. Temporary Options ⏳ • Book hostels, Airbnb, or short-term WGs for the first month. • Gives you time to search calmly once in Germany. 9. Network, Network, Network 🤝 • Ask seniors, classmates, or professors. • Many apartments never make it to websites — they get filled through word of mouth. 10. Think Outside Big Cities 🚆 • If you can’t find housing in Berlin, Cologne, or Munich → look at nearby smaller towns with good train connections. • Rent is often half the price! ✨ With the right strategy, you WILL find a place. Stay patient, apply everywhere, and don’t lose hope 💙 Music Used in this video - 1.
