This was from a trip to Lake Garda in Autumn 2025 it was a really chill afternoon with very little wind only a few other folks visiting and the resident cat colony. A short walk from the tower is an Ossuary Chapel there will be a video on that shortly. Tower of San Martino della Battaglia Erected in 1878 to comemorate the battle that took place here in 1858, The 74 meter high tower was constructed in the form of a Neo-Gothic turret, atop the hill of San Martino. The Battle of Solferino took place near the villages of Solferino and San Martino della Battaglia in Lombardy, south of Lake Garda between Milan and Verona. The adjoint Battle of San Martino was fought north from Solferino, near the lakeshore, between San Martino and Pozzolengo villages.
