Hello, my name is Michael Moore. I am a student of the Nahuatl language (Chicontepec/Huasteca variant). I believe that the most profound way to learn a language is to express myself with the language. This poem is about the commonality of "water" with Nahua and Cherokee cultures. I am Cherokee and have "gone to water" on many occasions and I still do and have gone to water while living in Mexico. I originally wrote this poem in Nahuatl, there are 3 different subtitled versions, English, Nahuatl, and Spanish. I'm trying to make the subtitles similar to "karaoke" so students can practice, as this is how I still practice with poems, songs, etc. © 2026 @Uikalistli Coyotl y Michael E. Moore.
